Update April, 2016: This post was originally part of a series in 2010 for recipes using cream cheese after I found a great sale with a coupon and was able to purchase five bricks of cream cheese for 25 cents each. I had lots of cream cheese to use up!
I created this recipe using different ideas that sounded good to me from several other recipes. Since that time, I’ve made this spinach dip many more times, usually to bring to some kind of get-together with friends or family. It always, always gets gobbled up fast and always, always receives many positive compliments.
Sure, it’s easy to grab spinach dip from the nearest deli too, but this recipe doesn’t take long to make and is worth the little bit of effort. Then when you start receiving compliments, you can happily let them know you made your own!
Here’s how to do it:
- 1 8 oz pkg Cream Cheese – softened
- 1 cup Mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Worcestshire Sauce
- 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1/4 cup Finely Chopped Onion
- 1/2 cup Chopped Water Chestnuts
- 1 pkg Frozen Chopped Spinach – thawed, with the excess water squeezed out
Combine the cream cheese and mayo in a mixing bowl. Stir in the worcestshire sauce and the garlic powder. Next stir in the parmesan, chopped onion, and water chestnuts. Finally, stir in the spinach. Serve with veggies or crackers.
