Homemade Gifts: Southwestern Dip Mix

| |

Update: This recipe was updated to a smaller batch size that I now prefer for gift giving. The smaller size makes 7 tablespoons and fits nicely into a 4 oz mini jar or into a square ziploc bag. However I have kept the original recipe here for those that might want to make the larger batch recipe which was about twice that size.

You can find the updated recipe here: Southwestern Fiesta Dip Mix

Homemade fiesta dip mix

This recipe uses eight familiar pantry spices and is super simple to mix together. When it’s time to make a batch of dip, you’ll use 1 tablespoon of your spice mix with a 1/2 cup of sour cream and a 1/2 cup of mayonnaise.

Whether you make this original larger batch, or whether you decide to check out the updated fiesta dip mix recipe, it always makes a tasty mix that’s perfect for gift giving. It’s also very handy to keep in your own pantry for any time you need to make a quick party dip!

    1. Yes, you could probably leave the salt out as some of the other spices (such as the chili and cumin) are quite flavorful.
