How To Make A Mudslide Dessert Drink

I almost never order dessert when I go out to eat. Not because I have tons of self control or anything, I’m just usually too full after my meal to eat anything more. And I guess that’s why when I do get tempted to end my meal with something sweet, I give in and decide to drink my dessert.

No more chewing required!

I’d like a Mudslide please.

Oh yes, I’ve been known to give in to the temptation to end my meal with a Mudslide, a yummy milkshake mixture of ice cream, Baileys, and Kahlua, with a bit of chocolate in there too for good measure. It’s my favorite dessert drink. And the good news is, it’s super easy to make your own Mudslide at home in the blender. Yay!

So as a follow up to my homemade Baileys Irish Cream recipe, I’m sharing my method for how to make a Mudslide and a printable label or tag including the recipe too.  Enjoy!

How To Make A Mudslide

Ingredients:

  • 3 Scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1/4 Cup (2 ozs)Baileys Irish Cream (try homemade Baileys!)
  • 1/8 cup (1 oz) Kahlua (try homemade Kahlua!)
  • 1/4 cup (2 ozs) Milk
  • Chocolate Syrup

Combine the vanilla ice cream, the Baileys, the Kahlua, and the milk in a blender. Drizzle a bit of chocolate syrup around the inside of the glass, then fill the glass with the ice cream mixture.

The chocolate syrup will, or course, kind of dribble down the side of the glass leaving brown streaks and I’m going to venture a guess that’s how the name “Mudslide” came to be.

And here’s a simple printable label or tag too for your homemade bottles of Baileys that includes this Mudslide recipe, as well as the reminder that Baileys makes a great addition to a cup of coffee, a cup of hot chocolate, or a cup of peppermint tea.

  1. Thank you for sharing this recipe and thanks for the thoughtfulness and time you spent making up tags for drink recipes to print out. I am excited to try this for family and also now feel compelled to make your other two liquer recipes.
