Equipment:
Sewing Machine (Or hand needle can work too)
Scissors
Materials:
1piecefleece fabric (1/4 yard will make 3 covers)
Thread
Instructions:
Cut a piece of fleece fabric to a size of 16" wide x 5½" high. Make sure the stretch of the fabric is lengthwise when cutting your fabric.
Fold each end of the piece in by 2½". Note: If your fleece fabric has a "right side" that is fuzzier, make sure that side is facing down when you fold in the ends.
Sew around the three sides of the fold to hold it in place. Do a topstitching type of seam that is close to the edge. This will create two pockets at each end of the fabric piece.(This could also be hand sewn if you do not have a sewing machine)
To use for dry sweeping: Place your cover onto the Swiffer by stretching each pocket onto an end of the mop. After dry sweeping, remove cover and it can be washed in any regular load of your washing machine. You may wish to pick off any larger amounts of dust or hair from the cover before washing.
