How to Disinfect Using Vinegar and Peroxide
This method does not mix the vinegar and peroxide, and instead has you spray one onto a surface, followed by the other. Cleaning a surface with both of these items helps the disinfecting power.
Equipment:
- spray bottles or spray nozzles that will fit on the vinegar and/or peroxide bottle
Materials:
- 5% white distilled vinegar
- 3% hydrogen peroxide
Instructions:
- Begin by cleaning the surface with soap and water. This will help to maximize the cleaning power of the vinegar and peroxide which you will use next.
- Remember, you are not mixing the two liquids together. Instead you will use them separately on the surface, one after the other.
- Spray your surface with one of the liquids (either the vinegar or the peroxide, it doesn't matter which one you use first). Let it sit on the surface for about 5 minutes and then wipe it off with a cloth.
- Then spray your surface with the other liquid and once again let it sit for 5 minutes and then wipe clean.
