Equipment:
1 empty foaming hand soap dispenser
Materials:
liquid soap (about 1/4 cup)See Notes
water (about 3/4 cup)
OPTIONAL ADD-INS
1tablespoonvegetable glycerin (for moisturizing)
A fewdropsessential oil(for fragrance)
Instructions:
Pour some of your liquid soap into the bottom of your empty foaming hand soap container. You'll want about a 1/2" to 3/4" in the bottom. This will be about 1/4 cup to 1/3 cup of soap if you are refilling a container that's a 7 oz size.
Slowly fill the foaming soap container the rest of the way with water. Leave a little space at the top for inserting the pump top back onto the bottle.
Add in the the glycerin or essential oils if using.
Screw the top back on the bottle. Slowly tip the bottle back and forth to mix the soap and water together. (This works better than shaking the bottle). Your DIY foaming hand soap refill is now ready to use.
Notes:
This recipe is easy to just eyeball without the need for any precise measuring. However I have included sample measurements for refilling the common 7.5 oz bottles to help you the first time through.Several different types of liquid soap can be used successfully for this recipe. I have used castile soap, dish soap, and hand soaps. You can refill any size foaming soap container. Just use a ratio of approximately 1 part soap to about 3 parts water.
