This easy mix is layered in a quart mason jar and makes a nice last-minute food gift idea. Adjustments can be made for a vegan option too.

Ingredients:
1¾cupsFlour
2tspBaking Powder
1/4tspBaking Soda
1/2tspSalt
2/3cupSugar
1/4cupWalnut Pieces
1/4cupMini Chocolate Chips
Instructions:
In a quart mason jar, layer the ingredients in the order given above.
Put a lid on the jar and add a label with the instructions given in the next step.
You will also need: 2 large ripe bananas, 2 eggs, and 1/3 cup vegetable oil.In a large mixing bowl mash the bananas and then stir in the eggs and oil. Add in the contents of the jar and mix everything together. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until a knife or toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Notes:
To make the recipe without eggs or oil, change the instructions to read "Add a flax egg replacement made with 2 Tbl Ground Flax Seed + 1/3 cup Water, and 1/3 cup Applesauce". Omit the chocolate chips for this mix option, or use the Enjoy Life non-dairy brand of chocolate chips.White whole wheat flour, and organic cane sugar can also be used when layering this jar.
