DIY For Dummies {Just Add Water!}

|

Welcome to my annual summer installment of DIY for Dummies, a collection of some of my recipes that can be made with just 2 ingredients.  I often find myself saying, “homemade doesn’t have to be hard” and these 2 ingredient recipes are all good examples of that simple truth. Sometimes all it takes to Make Your Own is just mixing a couple things together.

DIY for Dummies: 10 Easy 2 ingredient recipes you can make by just adding water!

For this year’s list I decided to do something a little different and gather together some recipes that not only had just 2 ingredients, but are also all recipes where one of the ingredients is water.  Most of us can come up with that ingredient pretty easily!  And by adding water to other ordinary things we can come up with some super quick and easy ways to make our own versions of products and save ourselves some cash too.

I hope you’ll find an idea or two on this list that will inspire you to get out your measuring cup and give it a try.

Let’s take a look:

1.   Water + White Glue = Homemade Mod Podge
This is a very frugal alternative to the store bought version and it’s always worked great for me when I make my homemade tile coasters.

  1. Good day to you! Loved the list of ideas, I have one to share. Prevent diaper rash with one cup water and two tablespoons white vinegar. Use this instead of store bought wipes and diaper rash never happens! Keep in jar with soft clothes handy or even pour over clothes and keep in air tight container ready to use. I used this with all 4 of my kids and now my grandkids.
    Blessings to you!

    1. Thanks for the idea Minnie! I totally believe that a vinegar/water mixture would work for diaper rash because last summer I used a vinegar/water mixture on a sunburn and it worked very well. So apparently there is something about vinegar that works for soothing skin, perhaps it helps balance the the ph of the skin.
