The idea for this week’s link list started with a new magazine I discovered called Ready Made. In spite of its name, it contains plenty of homemade project ideas. That’s where I spotted a fun idea for a homemade cat toy, and decided the pets that are so special in our lives could use some homemade goodies at Christmas time (or anytime).
1. Catnip Mouse Toy
This is the cat toy project I spotted in the Ready Made magazine. It’s a simple little fabric mouse you sew that’s stuffed with catnip and then attached to a wooden dowel with string. I know my cats would have gone crazy for a toy like this. [kind of sad I don’t have any cats in my life right now 🙁 ]
2. 4 Homemade Cat Treats
Here’s four fun ideas for homemade cat treats on the Savvy Homemade website. You’ll find recipes for Crunchy Cat Biscuits, Kitty Treat Fish Balls, Cat Cookie Treats, and Kitty Kibble.
3. 10 Best Homemade Dog Treat Recipes
While we only had four homemade treat ideas above for our cat friends who can be a bit finicky, the Fun Times Dog Guide website has 10 (!) ideas for homemade dog treats. Their list included several You Tube videos to show how it’s done.
4. 2 Easy Homemade Dog Toys The All Free Crafts website has these two easy ideas for homemade dog toys – one using a tennis ball and a string, and the other a quick sew fleece toy idea. Both are economical ideas for dogs who chew their way through toys quickly.
So make a little something special for that kitty or doggy in your life. Now I just need to find some ideas for all those other pets – fish, birds, gerbils – and who knows what else!
