You Will Need:
1 Tbl Olive Oil
1/2 tsp Almond Extract (optional)
Plastic Gloves (or 2 small plastic bags)

1. Put the olive oil in a small bowl and heat in the microwave until warm (about 30 seconds). You want the oil warm, but not so hot that it would burn your hands. Stir in the almond extract if desired. (it makes it smell really good).

2. Rub the oil on your hands, paying special attention to massaging it into the cuticles and any other dry areas.

3. Put the plastic bags or plastic gloves on your hands and leave them on for about 10 minutes.

4. Remove the bags and rinse your hands off with warm water, rubbing them to remove the oil. Finish by patting your hands dry with a towel.

5. You can give yourself the whole manicure experience and finish up by pushing your cuticles back with a rubber tipped cuticle stick, putting on a coat or two of nail polish, and an application of hand cream.

The result? Your hands will look and feel so much softer. Enjoy!

    1. If you don’t want to use the plastic glove option, you could try looking for cotton gloves. I sometimes see these at the dollar store in the area where bath poufs and other “spa” type items are.

  1. We live in the mountains in CA. It is very, very dry here.

I've found the most wonderful moisturizer after much looking & agonizing.

The original recipe is simple: 1 part vegetable glycerin (i usually do 1/2 C) to 4 parts distilled water (2 C). Mix. Put in a spray bottle. If you find it a bit sticky, add a bit more water.

I've changed this around a bit. I usually use aloe vera juice for most of the liquid part. Sometimes i use aloe vera gel. This makes an incredibly silky product, but takes more work. You can also add some essential oil or use rose water for some scent. Someone i know makes her own rose water when her roses have been blooming.

My dry skin issues are all resolved since i began making this about 2-1/2 years ago. I keep some in the tub & spray it all over after my shower.

Some folks i've shared this with love it. Others not so much, but i think they miss the creamy lotion they are used to. Coconut oil works well too, but i find the glycerin/aloe beats it hands down.
