For my final cream cheese recipe this week I made a spinach dip for a family get-together. I used different ideas from a variety of recipes and came up with the following mixture:
SPINACH DIP
1 pkg softened cream cheese
1 cup mayo
1 tsp worcestshire sauce
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped water chestnuts
1 pkg frozen chopped spinach – thawed, with the excess water squeezed out
Combine the cream cheese and mayo in a mixing bowl. Stir in the worcestshire sauce and the garlic powder. Next stir in the parmesan, chopped onion, and water chestnuts. Finally, stir in the spinach. Serve with veggies or crackers.
So now all five of my 25 cent bricks of cream cheese are used up and we had lots of good eating. Hopefully these recipes have given you some inspiration for making your own goodies in the kitchen too. And now . . . I promise to write about something else for awhile.
