Salsa Chicken Recipe

Here’s a recipe for Salsa Chicken that my family enjoys. I had always made this with a store bought package of taco seasoning, and store bought salsa. I finally tried it with my own versions of taco seasoning and salsa and the recipe turned out great! So here’s the recipe, followed by the links to the Make Your Own versions for the taco seasoning and salsa.

Salsa Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

2 – 4 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
1/2 packet of Taco Seasoning (about 2 Tbl)
1 cup Salsa
1 cup Shredded Cheese

Place the chicken pieces in a baking dish and sprinkle them with the taco seasoning. Pour the salsa over top. Cover with foil and bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes (depending on how large your chicken pieces are). Remove from oven and remove foil. Sprinkle cheese over the top and return to the oven (uncovered) for an additional 3 to 5 minutes.

This dish tastes good with good served with sour cream. I usually serve this with spanish rice and corn as well to keep the mexican flavor theme going.

Most of the time I now use my homemade taco seasoning blend when I make this recipe. You can also use this quick homemade salsa on top of the recipe too.

I think it’s great to have homemade options like this. If I’m pressed for time, I can still go with the store bought stuff. But if I do have the time, I like knowing there’s a homemade option that can save money.
